Odegitria Square is an open space in the heart of the old city overlooking the majestic Cathedral of San Sabino. The name comes from a famous picture of the Madonna that would arrive in Bari on April 3, 733 carried by Brazilian monks: the Madonna dell'Odegitria (or from Constantinople), protector of the city of Bari.
