The plaster museum is accessible through the left entrance placed in the central court of a Norman-Swabian castle. Cast pieces kept in there were manufactured by sculptors Pasquale Duretti, Mario Sabatelli, and others. They have been in the Castle since 1957. Among the most important pieces, the Lions Door (Porta dei Leoni), consoles, capitals, a sphinx once placed over the main portal, a chair belonging to the Abbot of St. Elias from St. Nicholas Basilica, and several sculpture fragments from Bari Cathedral, in addition to many more works from Apulian cathedrals constituting a rich figurative heritage.
