We read some poor reviews but our experience so far is great. Nice staff, clean and tidy...what more do you want?

Great location near termini and quick walk to colosseum. Breakfast was fine, coffee was tasty. Good deal for the price...would definitely stay again!

As a result, if I could go back in time, I wouldn't stay at an Antico hotel. Due to poor hygiene, over-hyping (the room in the photo is very different from the actual room), and insincere staff. No matter how good the location is, if I go to Rome again in the future, I will stay somewhere else.

LikedIt is located close to Stazione Centrale, suitable for day trips to other italian cities, like Florence or Naples. The furniture of the room was too old, and there was just one chunky wardrobe with few drawers. There was no table for writing. Breakfast is mostly bread and butter as is the case in many italian hotels.

DislikedThe utterly refusal of the personnel at the entrance lobby to call taxis. They say there is a taxi station by the side of Santa Maria Maggiore. That is true. But not always there are taxis at that station. And many times, when the taxis are there, the drivers are not. At the peak hours in Rome is very difficult to find a taxi in the streets, most of them are already occupied by people who certainly called them. One day before my departure, the person at the reception told me that just in "extreme cases" they would call a taxi, and I would have to wait at the station. Fortunately when I was leaving early morning for Fiumicino airport there was another person at the reception. Seeing my suitcases, he immediately asked me if I needed a taxi and, upon my affirmative answer, called a taxi, which arrived in more or less 2-3 minutes. This refusal to call a taxi from most of the personnel at the reception is very stressful for guests, mostly if you have an appointment or a flight to catch. I am certainly not going to be a guest in Antico Palazzo Rospigliosi again.
