Surrounded by rolling hills and Chianti vineyards, Siena shines as a jewel of the Tuscan Renaissance, and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience the famous Palio di Siena horse race, catch the pulse of the city at Piazza del Campo, visit the beautiful Duomo cathedral…and fall in love with this charming city!
Founded by Etruscans around 900 BC, the city was first conquered by Romans and later by Lombards. The Middle Ages saw it becoming the independent and flourishing Republic of Siena, until its annexation to the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
The economic difficulties that followed turned out to be a blessing for the preservation of its historic center. Adorned with frescoes by Ghirlandaio and bass-reliefs by Donatello, Lorenzo Ghiberti, and Jacopo della Quercia, the Duomo represents the highest expression of this well-kept legacy. The shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, with the Palazzo Pubblico and the Gaia Fountain, is still the heart and soul of the city. Follow the labyrinth of narrow streets and passages that irradiate from there and you will be enchanted by its romantic atmosphere from ancient times.
The closest airports are Peretola Airport in Florence and Galileo Galilei International Airport in Pisa, though Guglielmo Marconi Airport in Bologna is also well connected. While planning your trip, don’t forget to check out the Siena accommodations deals on Booking.com!
Siena was so beautiful. Fabulous food and wine and so much to see that was inspiring, especially Renaissance Art. Unfortunately, the paintings of good and bad government which we had especially gone to see, were away for restoration. We shall just have to return another time! I walk with a stick and some of the very steep streets were very challenging for me. Fortunately, we worked out flatter routes to take other than the ones Google Maps gave us! Someone should write a disabled persons guide to Siena. Nearby Tuscan towns a must, too.

My daughter spent a month there during college days so have visited in the past. Superb museum in the central plaza and great to wander the streets and shops. Attended a concert in the theater in the central area which was a disaster because of the incredible noise from an adjacent party/facility with a boom box going full blast --- i.e., I would characterize this as a seriously embarrassing and classless situation for all concerned. I would not advise spending more than a full day there. Finally, the place is overly obsessed/fixated on the whole horse race in the central plaza that takes place for about 3 minutes every 12 months.

This was a MARVELOUS place! Great location! DO make sure, if arriving by car, that you read their instructions! We loved the place. Reception friendly, courteous and welcoming. Very helpful, excellent english since our Italian is still 'wobbly'. Lovely room, very clean, great bed and a marvelous look at the Duomo and tower. We have a cat and she was received like the queen she thinks she is. GREAT bfst that was not all sweets!

Siena old city centre is great.
Siena old city centre is great. Piazza del campo is beautiful and lovely. We were also here for Strade bianche cycling race and it was magnificent to experience it. For parking, i reccomend parking house at the train station. On Saturday the whole day parking cost us 2€. We parked there and then walked to center from there, around 25 minutes of walk. For dinner, we went to Ristorante Pizzeria La Capannina by car. If you want to experience real Italian food, i would higly reccomend this restaurant. The food was great and the prices affordable. Overall, i couldn't reccomend it more.

Honestly, the place we stayed really made our stay in Siena!
Honestly, the place we stayed really made our stay in Siena! Yes, the city was great, too! We loved visiting the Duomo, and we loved just walking through the streets within the city walls. From the two nights we were there (which wasn't nearly enough), we ate at the Fonte Giusta three times! It was always so delicious! Incredible pasta, and a wonderfully friendly staff! But our place, located just a ten minute walk from the city walls, had the most incredible views of the Tuscan hills! Each morning we woke up, we were just so grateful to be visiting such a beautiful part of the world!
Everything was perfect! the room is new and refurbished, the bed is comfortable and everything is very clean. Then the view…amazing…on Piazza del Campo, one of the most beautiful squares in Italy! This is a top location if you want to spend time in Siena downtown and leave the car outside. there are plenty of parking lots pretty cheap outside the historical city center, you can grab a taxi and be at the hotel in 15 minutes from everywhere! Then the staff was incredibly available and helpful, they will ease your stay! Top!
The staff were amazing and so helpful. They were particularly helpful in helping us get to the building with parking and our luggage. They were also great English speakers which really helped us feel more comfortable. The location is great and walking distance to main sites in Siena. The property is quite large and has a nice outdoor area which we could sit and relax in. The breakfast was great too with variety! The hotel room felt clean, and very large and spacious which really helped us spread out with our luggage.
the views of the Tuscan hills off the terrace were amazing. perfect place to relax in the afternoon. great location just outside of Porta Roma. very easy to get to city center. staff are extremely helpful and friendly. lovely breakfast with a coffee bar and more Tuscan views. loved the historic building , very old world feel. would definitely return to the hotel. our favorite lodging in Italy
Really nice hotel! We were really surprised. We loved it so much! We went to 4 différents hotels in Italy the same week and it was by far the best hotel, with the best organization for breakfast due to Covid.
Room was so confortable and big enough for a family. Location is great. The city was amazing! We loved everything.
We will come back! You can easily find a parking space outside the hotel.
The hotel is very beautiful and cute. It has a very stylish design and very nice yard with lemon trees. The owner was very helpful and gave us the information about the nearest laundry where we cleaned our clothes. The bed was super comfortable and it is very quiet there so we had a nice sleep. Highly recommend for nature lovers and those who are looking for sth authentic in Italy!
Our host, Alberto, was very helpful and easy to contact and communicate with. We especially appreciated his guidance on valeting our car. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. The hotel is situated perfectly for exploring the historic center of Siena. We enjoyed the variety of restaurants next to the hotel and there are some fun bars to check out in the evening.
The location was good for getting to Siena, rooms were clean, quiet and dark (window shutters). Lovely grounds surrounding the hotel. The cleaning staff was very caring and attentive, easy check-in at arrival. The room had a kettle which is unusual in Italian hotels, as well as a fridge. We slept well in this place.
Flat located in the centre of Siena, very spacious, clean and the kitchen had all the amenities you could possibly need! The TV with Netflix for tourists who don't understand italian was a big plus, since everything in Italy is dubbed. Also the hosts were super sweet and helpful, always reachable through Whatsapp.
The staff is very helpful, thanks a lot, specially when I needed a needle.
They provided the best liquid soap and shampoo I've ever used, what an amazing olive fragance! In my mind, that smell always will make me remember of Siena, thank you so much.
The hotel is very nice, I'd like so much to come back.
This was one of our favourite accomodations during our holiday in Italy. Magic villa from 17th century,, excellent service from all staff, amazing view from the breakfast terrace and our room,, well situated near entrance to Siena ( la Porta Romana). Everything was clean. Amazing friendly atmosphere!
The staff was very kind and the location just amazing. Value for money. Next time I visit Tuscany, villa Siena will be my only one stay. This is because Siena is the most beautiful place in Italy and within two hours drive the most, you can visit all Tuscany. The room was PERFECT.
Amazing location inside the walls of Siena. Our room was large, well decorated, and the view from our bedroom and the outside terrace, where they serve a great breakfast, is breathtaking. The staff was also five star. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Siena!
A beautiful hotel extremely clean and warm staff. The restaurant served unique local dishes for dinner. A culinary experience. Their breakfast was simply outstanding. I cannot wait to be back. Perfect experience. Love you Siena.
It’s a lovely apartment and very spacious for Italy. Not only that but it has a beautiful courtyard. The location is a close walking distance to everything you’ll want to see in Siena as well. Definitely worth the price.
The location of the hotel is very convenient, we only need to walk 20 minutes to reach the center of Siena. The hotel is small and exquisite, decorated very artistically and beautifully. Breakfast is delicious.
Nice historic building - hotel staff provided lots of information - super friendly staff, assisting in booking a table at the restaurant etc - amazing breakfast
Overall the best hotel in our stay in Italy <3
The beautiful hotel is in a great location just steps from the center or Siena and offers the most incredible views of the Tuscan hillside! the breakfast and gardens were also very nice.
Friendly helpful staff. Let us keep our car next day in their lot, and explained how to take the bus into Siena. Great breakfast! Very modern hotel. Great suggestion for Dinner!
