FAQs about hotels in Turin

Shrouded in Sophistication

Italy’s first capital, sophisticated Turin has many elegant buildings and porticoed streets. Large Piazza Castello is the focal point and centres on Palazzo Madama, an unusual structure with a Renaissance façade and medieval body.

The next door Royal Palace backs onto Turin Cathedral, home to the Turin Shroud, the cloth with an imprint of Christ only rarely on display. Its museum is just one of the many fantastic Turin museums. None is better than the Egyptian Museum, the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts outside Cairo. Also noteworthy is the Mole Antonelliana, housing displays on Italian cinema and supposedly the world’s tallest museum.

By the Po, Italy’s longest river, is the Parco del Valentino, a tranquil park that is home to the Borgo Medievale, an artificial, medieval-style settlement with a castle.

However, within Italy, Turin is best known for sport and cars. FIAT is based here and nostalgia lovers can visit the rooftop track on top of their old Lingotto factory, now a conference center. The city’s 2 Serie A football clubs - Torino and Juventus - also have electric atmospheres at their games.

Watch out for amazing views of the Alps as you fly into Turin Airport. Public transport then quickly links you to your Booking.com hotel, B&B or hostel.

It was a cultural shock to me, visiting for the first time and coming from a town and region that lacks the level of art, architecture, structured urban life, well organized public transport, many other things. I couldn't pick one or two places as favorites, there were many interesting spots, nice parks and public spaces, shops. Turin has rich history, is important as the hometown of Juventus, FIAT, Lavazza, to mention few. The city is overcrowded on weekends, Italians like to enjoy meals or beverages in restaurants or bars. Monday is usually a free day, and placed close for a few hours around lunch every day, so have in mind that when visiting. One cannot see everything in several days, so I hope to return again to round up the places not visited on this trip.

The city has a lot to offer from museums and galleries to shopping and site seeing. We only stayed for two days which is not enough really to see everything. I’d recommend purchasing the City card as it offers quite a lot of free or discounted entries to many museums , however some museums have a timed entry slots and require a booking online only Egyptian museum for example , we missed out on that one .Be prepared to spend quite a lot of time walking around museums and galleries as they are big and there’s a lot to see . If traveling on the weekend then definitely try to book a restaurant for an evening meal as they get really really busy and it’s almost impossible to find anywhere where you can just walk in , we found out the hard way and after a lot of walking and not being able to get anywhere we were almost at the point of giving up and just by pure chance stumbled upon a nice restaurant that found a table for us and we had a lovely meal after all .Unlike UK most restaurants do not open until 7pm , but during day time there’s a lot of small coffee and pizza places offering pizzas , panini , sandwiches , light bites and of course famous Italian coffee . Don’t expect to find a large cappuccino as I’m pretty sure they don’t exist in Italy . A tip from my friend who lives in Italy is to always look after your bag and belongings while walking the streets as unfortunately street crime is very high in Italy and police won’t do much about it if you were robbed . Also the night life tip is to always look after your drinks as drink spiking is one of the most committed crimes in big cities like Turin , Rome , Milan etc . So enjoy your visit but always stay cautious .

    The experience was terrible:

The experience was terrible: 1) the host at the phone was rude and aggressive; 2) Taking the keys was a Drama, terrible experience, in the neighborhood of the Train station, where many Africans ask me of money; 3) the studio isn’t an Attico, but an old Cave humid and cold like a Storage without probably permit of Living (Booking must proof if Mr. Cossu the owner has the Permit of Living or not); 4) it is not possible to open the windows ( so from April until October isn’t possible to live there); 5) it is full of Spiders and dirty (see the pictures) Finally it is ONLY A CAVE LIKE A STORAGE COLD HUMID NOT FOR HUMANS WITHOUT PROBABLY A PERMIT FOR LIVING (ABUSIVE AND ILLEGAL FOR LIVING)

One of the nost underrated cities in Italy and Europe in general. Such a lot to see, taste and enjoy. History buffs are spoilt for choice. Very safe, I was never bothered by anyone whilst walking around both very early and also very late in the day. The City centre has long streets, avenues and squares lined with porticoes so that one can enjoy the city centre also in rainy weather. Lovely urban areas with beautiful parks surrounded by hills and with the Alps just a train ride away.

Considering how crazy and wild the streets of Turin are, the location of this hotel was a relief because it's on the outskirts of the busy, noisy city. The staff was top-notch. They were all so nice, attentive, kind, helpful, and very respectful of the entire process. Breakfast was good. Beds were comfortable, as well as the pillows and blankets. Shower was very nice, but careful with the shower floor as it is SUPER slippery, and they don't have safety bars or adhesives on the floor to avoid slipping and falling

Loved everything about this property from the professional reception and breakfast staff to the enormous bathrooms to the modern architecture. This hotel has it all at a very reasonable rate. It’s not close to the Turin attractions but has restaurants and museums in the area. “Eataly” is a unique restaurant-grocery store that offers a wide variety of menu options. And Double Tree gives free vouchers to the Pinacoteca Agnelli museum - its worth the visit!

We only stayed one night for a stopover on our journey to Venice. The hotel is located in the centre of Turin, near the main attractions. The hotel is charming and the room was very simple. The breakfast room is decorated in the 18th century style to remind Mozart's stay in this hotel. The breakfast has nothing exceptional, and we arrived too late to enjoy it (it closes at 10 and you have to leave the room at 10:15!).

Good hotel ideally located on Turin’s main square, within easy walking distance from most of the city’s main attractions. I booked the hotel’s basic “cheap” room with a single twin bed for a single traveler and a dedicated bathroom outside the room, both of which were fine although the shower did not drain properly (they were waiting for someone to fix it). Nice, friendly and helpful staff.
