You will learn how this city arose in the pre-Etruscan era in an area which had been inhabited since prehistoric times. This is evident through the discovery of stone tools and the so-called "Man of the Elm", which dates back to the Paleolithic. This took place near the hamlet of Olmo which occurred throughout the excavation works of a short segment of the Rome-Florence railway line in 1863. Arezzo was then one of the main Etruscan cities, and you will learn about how throughout the Roman era, especially in the republican period, Arezzo became a very important symbol of Roman expansion to the north. As visitors to Italy who were more interested in food and culture than museums and antiquities, this event was perfect. We arrived late at the start due to an incorrect meeting location, but our guide Valentin waited for us, and our fellow visitors were super accommodating of our tardiness. The late start didn't affect our enjoyment of the event, which had a substantial amount of riding (supplemented with the motors of the electric bikes) through beautiful countryside. On our particular tour, we also wound up stopping by an olive oil production facility which I believe was unplanned but made for a fun and interesting diversion. Our return to the winery was the perfect end to the afternoon, receiving a brief tour of the property and then enjoying a wonderful lunch + wine tasting. We would definitely recommend this event for visitors to the area, but make sure to confirm the meeting location with the guide and allow time for a taxi/car service to get you to the remote start location.

We loved riding e-bikes in the picturesque Valdichiana countryside with Valentin as our guide. We took several small breaks to enjoy the views. It was evident that Valentin appreciates the beauty of the landscape. We also made a quick stop at an olive oil cooperative, where Valentin walked us through the process of pressing the olives. Our bike tour concluded at the Poggio Sorbello winery for a tour and lunch/wine tasting.

prepared and very helpful guide. The only warning: the meeting place was indicated at number 1 while in reality it was number 2, so much so that the coordinator of the activity came looking for us. But nothing serious, just a small delay in the start of the visit, which did not reduce the time: it was a full two hours.

The location-wow! saw the home of gladiator. valentine the tour guide gave a really good safety brief and clear instructions. the pizza we had on our stop off was sooooo good, and lots of it

Competent and engaging guide. She showed us the historical and artistic aspects of Arezzo but also managed to get us into the soul of the city
