It was clean and the perfect location. Staff was extremely helpful and the breakfast was great! It was nice and quiet and very close to everything. We were made to feel very welcome in Venice, a unique and superb destination. The cicchetti were a revelation, an extremely cost effective way to eat in Venice and if you find some good ones, very delicious (go to Arcicchetti Bakaro in Santa Croce) and the bar opposite the gondola repair shop in Duosodoro.

This is my second visit to Venice and I really enjoyed myself. You can wander and just get lost in the city and discover shops and lovely small restaurants and wine bars. I love the evenings when the crowds are less and this is a great time for a Gondola ride. We had previously seen the Doge Palace and St Marks Cathedral and if you want to enjoy these sights do them early. We elected to have drinks at the Longhi Bar at the Gritti Palace as the views are amazing. The cocktails are hand crafted and very good but are not cheap. We then has diner at Gio's in the St Regis Hotel which was a great meal with stunning views. I would highly advice a cicchetti stroll. These are bite sized (or 2 bites) snacks which typically have fish or meats on them. My favorites are All 'Arco and cantina Do Mori. Whatever you do, enjoy this unique city and what it has to offer.

This was my 5th visit to Venice, the first being in 1978.
This was my 5th visit to Venice, the first being in 1978. Sadly (and I realise I am part of the problem) it is now chronically overrun by tourists so would caution visitors to anticipate crowds and queues at the sights. But ... it remains a most beguiling city that is utterly unique. Get up early in the morning, enjoy the sunrise and watch this fascinating place come to life. Walk away from the crowds later in the day and you will be blessed with many fascinating sights just a stone's throw away from the hordes in San Marco. La Serenissima may not be all that serene these days, but plan carefully and her beauty will be revealed to you. It's all about the timing.

I'm Danish but grew up in Venice, musician for the Venetian Power musical and album record soundtrack "The Arid Land" by Claudio Ambrosini and just now back in town first time after 1975. What a change! And yes, too many tourists, you may well apply a Venice entry ticket fee to "giornalieri" at the minimum!

It’s a beautiful place to visit although the food is not the best in the world.
You have to do a great deal of research to eat at good place.
You also have to be very vigilant of pickpockets.
If you have several pieces of luggage it is very expensive to take a water taxi to and from train station or airport.
Try to travel light be prepared to a lot of walking and stairs climbing.

Inside the Basilica San Marco is a must see. Get a skip the li e ticket and get a 45 min guided tour. We used Venice Tours - Valentina was super.
Go up the campanile for the view. Again get skip the line tickets
The Teatro la fenice is also stunning. Go and see it - it's free
Food is delicious as long as you dont have nut and cheese allergies.
I recommend KM0 Venezia Osteria and Hostaria Osottosopra having been to both.
Go to Murano but not just the 1hr tour. Give yourself a few hours to explore and enjoy it.
Get a multi day vaporetto pass. Excellent value and the easiest way to get around.
The Museum Corner Cafe on St Mark's Square is a little gem worth dropping into.
You will need to walk to get to places. Wear comfortable shoes
The place is very clean and accessible to all shops and cafeterias. And Tiziano is the best host he helped us where to go, is very helpful and hospitable, and helped us carry 2 heavy luggages to get to our bus. Fantastic area, complete facilities, and Tiziano went above and beyond to make our stay hassle free. Thank you so much Tiziano for all the help and for being the most hospitable host. I will definitely come back again and again to this hotel. Fantastic service. The best hotel in italy in my experience. Grazie Grazie! :)
Where do I begin. This was our best stay in Italy. The apartment was spacious for the 4 of us. The staff Elisabetta was so friendly and responded to us immediately when we had questions. It was very convenient to walk from the hotel to San Marco Square and other areas. There were a few restaurants and bar nearby too. Breakfast was prepared one day ahead and topped up for the next day (cereal, milk, biscuits, yogurt etc.). They also had a small game room filled with board games and some books we could borrow during our stay.
This must be one of the best hotels in Venice. Even though part of a large hotel chain, it still has the small family hotel atmosphere. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble with staff going beyond their call of duty. The position of the hotel must be the best in Venice, literally on the Grand Canal opposite a beautiful church Santa Maria della Salute and only minutes away from St Mark's Square. yet still peaceful away from the crowds.
It’s my first time I stay with BeMate and it won’t be my last for sure! We loved the rooms, the exceptional decor, the high quality amenities and more! During my italy trip, that was my favorite stay of all! I even asked about the ID who did the decor of the rooms! The location was in the middle of venice close to many famous places, and the cleaning service was superb! Not a single mistake! Waww I loved my stay! Thank you for your service!
The breakfast was the best one we had in italy , it is carried up in baskets together with juice coffee and fresh warm croissants and bread ! Amazing. Totally did not expect that at all. The staff is also extremely kind to us. We were allowed to stow our bag in the hotel so we could explore easier the last day. Which helped so much since venice is full of stairs and carrying bags can be troublesome. The bed was very soft as well.
A fantastic beautiful hotel. Centrally located. Exceptionally clean and excellent speedy customer interaction. Prices in April very reasonable for such fabulous location and luxury. Breakfast the best ever had in Italy. Comfy huge beds, marble bathrooms and historic Italian decor. Take the water taxi from the airport right to the hotel. Amazing. Definitely recommend and would return
Extremely helpful and friendly staff who provided information and recommendations, took our luggage to our rooms for us overall excellent and welcoming.
The rooms were absolutely immaculate and the bed was extremely comfortable - we had the best sleep here out of all hotels we had booked throughout our tour of Italy.
A good range of toiletries and complementaries provided
The room was amazing. Very modern, excellent bed, bathroom and nice shower. Super quite at night but very close to good restaurants and just some steps from Vaporetto station. Breakfast is the best I already had in Italy. Janina and Joni were perfect in all details and information. It is a pearl in Venice. I strong recommend.
Everything was exceptional! The staff was awesome, helpful, and compassionate. The facilities were immaculate and very comfortable. It was my wife and my first visit to Italy. The staff recommended a private boat ride around Venice which proved to be a great idea. The hotel location is a short walk from the Piazza St Marco.
Roberto is the best host I have met during my trip to Italy. Kind, helpful and cordial. His BB is located right next to the beautiful parks and Giardini, in a calm and quiet part of Venice. There is a nice local bar next to the house where you can chat with local people in the evenings. I will be back!
This was a last minute booking due to the air traffic strike in Italy, so I was really surprised how lovely and clean these suites were and in a brilliant location on a little canal in Venice,.with the gondalas going past I would definitely use these again .,
The staff was wonderful. So helpful to this lady traveling alone, who had never been to Italy before. They were terrific. The location in Venice was ideal. The room was a little small to move around in, but had everything I could want and was very clean.
Hotel room was fairly spacious with a modern look. Air conditioning worked beautifully, there was an elevator and bed was comfortable, all of which are not things I could say for other places we stayed in Italy. 5/5 would stay here again!
This is a very charming hotel in a 15th century house, with a lot of style and typical decoration. The staff is remarkably gentle and the breakfast is the best one we had so far in Italy. A great place that I warmly recommend!
This boutique hotel is amazing! We visited Venice many times, this is the best experience by far! very attentive service, family suite room is specious and warm (in December). also highly recommend the restaurant on site
Location was perfect as travelled to Venice by train from further north in Italy and was able to get to hotel within a couple of minutes walk.
Bed was very comfortable .
Staff were outstandingly helpful.
The directions to the hotel were detailed enough that I actually got to the hotel...a definite achievement in Venice1 The breakfast was the best I've encountered in my two months of travel through Italy.
- Great location
- Renovated bathroom
- very friendly staff
While the interior might be outdated, this might be the best hotel in Italy I have stayed in
