The staff was extremely friendly and for example hinted a cheaper parking slot in front of the hotel that I had missed vs. their own carage. Hotel was easy to access with car and was in ok location for our purpose (just to stay overnight before venturing to Cinque Terre next day). Breakfast wasn't exactly plentiful but adequate for our needs.

The Nautilus Hotel completely exceeded my expectations! The rooms and amenities are basic, but the hotel is clean, comfortable, and well located (the train station is easily accessible by bus) - and the hotel manager was wonderful! My friend and I had trouble finding a taxi the day we left, and she and her husband were so kind in helping us. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for an affordable, comfortable home base from which to explore the Cinque Terre.

Spacious rooms, good location and breakfast was fantasic
La Spezia is one of those typical cities of the Liguria Region where colourful houses cover hills and cliffs, providing panoramic views over the sea. Thousands of years of history and a heart open towards the sea have shaped the character of this town surrounded by the 'Cinque Terre'.
Located on the coast of the namesake gulf, its proximity to Genoa has greatly influenced its development and culture. Take a walk uphill from the harbour, and admire the display of architectonic styles in the Old Town. Some of the best hotels in La Spezia are located here, while elegant guesthouses and villas with gulf views can be found in the highest areas.
Must-see sites in the city are the 13th-century Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and St George’s Castle. The ‘Sea Festival’ is organized every summer, and its highlight is the rowing competition ‘Palio del Golfo’, a race between the 13 villages of the gulf. Departing from the port of La Spezia, boats can take you to the enchanted ‘Cinque Terre’.
The harbour is a 15-minute walk from La Spezia Central Station, and Genoa’s Cristoforo Colombo Airport is 105 km away. While planning your trip, check out Booking.com’s accommodation deals in La Spezia.

We spent four nights in La Spezia which was just right for us. We visited Portofino and Cinque Terre and as our hotel was very close to the railway station this was very convenient for travelling .We did contemplate going to Lucca but changed our mind and spent a day in La Spezia. It is a nice wee town with lots of local shops (no big bands only Zara) and lots of lovely restaurants. We had a nice walking through the town, the park and down to the ferry port and had a lovely lunch. We came back to La Spezia every night to eat as this was convenient and as I said had a good choice of restaurants at reasonable prices. There is also the regular ferry to and from Cinque Terre which is a great trip.

La Spezia is always presented as a working port , with no tourist value. We found it to be a good looking , relaxed city , plenty of eateries and cafes , pedestrian areas to walk and a great transport hub. While my friends did the Cinque Terre walk , I made a very easy 90 min journey by train to Lucca.
Infact , it was very nice to be in a town that was just going about its own business.

I have been to La Spezia before.
I have been to La Spezia before. It is very cosmopolitan and I particularly like the traffic free pedestrian area in the centre. Lots of lovely shops. Great for access to boat and rail trips to The Cinque Terre, Lerici and Portovenere

We are a family of 3 with a small child of 4 years age. We planned our itinery based on the weather forecast. We visited Cinque Terre for 1.5 days, followed by Pisa + Lucca on a day and rounded our trip by visiting the top attractions in La Spezia for few hours. I liked visiting the technical naval museum, crossing The Thaon di Revel Bridge walking along ,Costantino Morin Promenade, strolling through Via Del Prione & Corso Cavour. My son loved playing at the play area in Public Gardens. We loved eating Farinata @ Murphy's in La Spezia.

La Spezia was a great place to be based to visit Cinque Terre. The town does have a lot of graffiti though, which we initially regarded as being off putting, however we did not feel unsafe when we were there.

La Spezia is a great place to stay if doing the Cinque Terre trail. It is a nice spot with lots of shops and restaurants. November seems to be a quiet time for the area, we imagine it would have been busier and more atmospheric during summer months.
This hotel is on the doorstep of La Spezia Centrale station, which enabled me to hop from one Cinque Terre village to another in 5 mins. The host was an absolute sweetheart, with a huge infectious smile, she was really accomodating. She suggested places to visit which really helped, provided a map and train timetable too. Loved my room (named Corniglia). The room, bathroom and bed were clean, with gorgeous decor that added a personal touch. The host even allowed me to check in at 12 because my room was ready with no extra charge.
Michi was a fantastic host. She offers a very clean space with a well equipped kitchen. No issues with parking. There are some cute bars and restaurants down the hill on the marina. I would suggest making reservations during these times. I love the balcony area. Perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or tea.
I would recommend driving or taking a bus to the train station to get to Cinque Terre and surrounding areas. I had better luck finding parking at the La Spezia Migliarina station than the chaos of dealing with Central.
The apartment was great. I didn’t expect much because I think the pictures often look better than the reality of apartments and hotel rooms I’ve booked but this apartment truly exceeded my expectations. Beautiful view from the balcony, the hosts were the kindest people and were very helpful with thing concerning the apartment as well as recommendations for our visit to La Spezia and cinque terre, and a apartment with everything we needed. Very close to the train station which is a huge plus.
Its really a gem in La Spezia just near the Central Station. Rooms are fantastic with all required facilities. The host Marina was very welcoming, she explained about how to get around the city and how to visit Cinque Terre etc. We received a Easter gift in our room as well.
The hotel does not have breakfast facility but you get plenty of free breads , biscuits , coffee and tea in the room thats enough for breakfast also these are refilled everyday. We did not need separate breakfast.
La Pietra was the perfect mini vacation during my month in Italy. I stayed for one night, enjoying every second of the breathtaking view. The room was spacious and cozy, even smelled amazing. My favorite part was the patio and green space, overlooking the coast of La Spezia. Be sure to check out the maps, itinerary, and guest journal for activity ideas. La Pietra is a must stay while in La Spezia!
One whole room with 3 beds only for one person!! Hot water 24hrs, very big shower, open central heating system, very close to La Spezia centrale, very clean, one cupboard with hunger, one small private refrigerator, very quiet, very comfortable, I can sleep and rest finally! This room is like a 2** Stars 🏨 hotel!! I felt like I am in my house, it is very quiet like an abandoned place.
We asked to change room which wasn't a problem.
Nice hotel location.
Nice view on La Spezia bay/harbor from the room's balcony, swimming pool, dining/breakfast area.
Cleanliness of the hotel.
Quiet room.
Nice continental breakfast (smoked salmon).
La Spezia is a nice town itself to go out for dinner, to shop, ...
Central location of La Spezia: boat, train to Le Cinque Terre.
1. The room was very clean and comfortable.
2. There is a breakfast of a pastry, orange juice and coffee/tea across the street at a little coffee cafe.
3. The little interaction that I had with hotel staff was pleasant, professional and welcoming.
4. The location is very convenient to the train station, literally down the street. You don't even have to cross the street.
Comfortable, modern rooms in La Spezia. The air con worked well and the bed was very comfortable. The location was close enough to the train station and a short walk to restaurants. We stayed in La Spezia to visit cinque Terre so the hotel met our needs for this. We were able to park on the street nearby for the whole weekend for only 13€.
The place is very clean, a little quiet, perfect for staying in Italy. The host was kind, very helpful with information about the main attractions that are nearby and how to get there. She was also very kind to leave us to the near train station when we needed it and to pick us up from there.
The place has a private parking.
We loved our room. It was spacious and very comfortable. The building is not a hotel. The rented rooms are on one floor of the building so it is quite confusing when you arrive. There is no reception to greet you but the manager was very responsive by WhatsApp. Once we got the hang of it we were fine and enjoyed our stay!
It was my second time at Quiet Night and it is still the best accomodation in Italy I have ever been to. Luca was very flexible with the check in time. The place is right next to the main street of La Spezia, about 10 minute walking distance from the train station and the port. Everything is like on the pictures.
what a great eclectic hotel. hip vibe, friendly, helpful staff. Love that there's a lift! Breakfast was pricey at 15 euros each but decidedly worth it. Able to store luggage for our day into Cinque Terre. Wish we could have stayed more nights.
Great location, very close to train station. Brand new, super clean and spacious apartment. Amazing host that went above and beyond to make our stay in La Spezia an unforgettable memory. All recommendations for the place!
A truely pleasure to stay at Dépendance du Glam Resort. Perfect located close to railway station, restaurants and bars.
Service from our host Delia was brilliant and we can really recommend this hotel.
Amazing hotel, great pool overlooking La Spezia and nice staff. Also a good location if you want to visit the Cinque Terre. Breakfast also very good. Clear recommendation!
