The location was within walking distance to the train station and sightseeing. The front desk staff was very helpful as we arrived before the room was ready. WE were able to leave our bags while we did some sightseeing and when we returned, our bags had been delivered to the room.

The town is Ok for a day & night.
The town is Ok for a day & night. The cathedral at 12pm is the biggest thing in town and it is worth a look for the curious. Note all the bars around the square have a surcharge just to sit down - which they don't advertise. Try the Sri Lankan restaurants around town, delicious food at a great price.

we only stayed 3 nights, the area we stayed was very busy not far from ferry crossings. We visited Taormina and Cefalu, 2 nearby cities. Didn't get to see much of Messina itself. Did visit beach which was very nice.

Messina doesn't have a lot of attractions - the Camponile was interesting to see at midday, as well as the Norman cathedral, for which you could really see the Mudejar influence - something I found surprising for Italy.
OTOH, it also means there were fewer tourists about, which suited us to a tee.
If you are into hiking, it looks like the mountains above the city would have some nice trails with views out over both the Ionian and Tyrrhenian seas.

Messina was really just a jumping onto Sicily spot where I met up with friends coming from other locations. great for our trip to Lipari, otherwise I would not have stayed three days.
There were good restaurants and some not so good so always look at the menus first. and check open times, there is no such thing as a late lunch as they all close by about 2.30pm
Interesting history and buildings.
Just explore, you will find hidden treasures.
Big cruise ships stop here so the city can get very busy.

Visiting Etna was great.
Visiting Etna was great. It’s about 1.5 hrs away Nothing open on a Monday so walking around town was a bit of a waste. There really is not much to see. Taormina which is about 45 minutes away is the place to spend your time.
We had everything that we needed and was very clean. The bed is big and comfortable. Allessandro was very helpful and replied fast for any question that we had, even about the road taxes in Sicily, where I struggled at. The neighborhood is quiet. The kitchen is on the same level but in other apartment and it is well equipped. Historical center can be reached with the personal car in approx 10-15 min. I highly recommend. Free parking spots can be found very easy next to the facility.
Stayed here as we arrived late from a ferry in Malta and we were worried we wouldn't catch the ferry to mainland. Good place to stay if you have a car - private spacious parking was available. Room okay, pet-friendly, breakfast decent-enough (not amazing but certainly had MUCH worse in Italy - at least you got some savoury items here). Overall good value for money and decent place for a stop-over before catching the ferry (a little bit of a drive still but manageable).
Beautiful apartment, exceptionally clean, very comfortable beds. It was wonderful to have a kitchen (which was stocked with basics like coffee, olive oil, and salt) to get to cook with the delicious ingredients of Sicily. Riccardo, the host, was lovely, very helpful, and very accommodating leading up to our arrival as train troubles led us to being over 2 hours later than original check in time expected.
I had a wonderful stay at Jolly Charme for 4 nights, where the staff treated me like family. They went above and beyond, serving breakfast even after I overslept and allowing me to use their lovely kitchen area to work past checkout time. They also warmly welcomed my guests with coffee. This hotel truly prioritizes guest care and satisfaction, making it a highly recommendable choice in Messina.
Staff met me at check-in and was helpful and personable. I had a great room with a perfect balcony. The room was HUGE and covered with dramatic murals of the history of Sicily. Bed was large and fairly comfy. Lots of fancy furniture . Good location. Just 2 turns from train station down a long Main Street. Walking distance to shopping and cafes and grocery. Quiet and calm area
Fabulous hotel. So nice to stay in a real staffed hotel in this age of AirBNB. Very clean premises, comfortable bed. Nice breakfast area and excellent breakfast foods. Room was spectacular - large bedroom, good bathroom, kitchenette, and a large sitting room with couch and large work table. Good location - easy walk to and from train station and ferry terminal.
It was easy to get to from the Messina Central train station, approx. 15 minute walk. It was in a fantastic area to see the most recommended sights. The room was elegant, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was simple yet delicious and their was a very nice man there to make your coffee wishes come true! Self check-in is always a plus.
1. In the very center of Messina, a few blocks from Duomo and everything. Free street parking is possible
2. Rooms are spacious, comfy and very nicely decorated with Antonello di Messina's reproductions. The room looks like a 3* hotel room at least
3. B&B host Adriana is very helpful
Location near to the train station, staff spoke English, small balcony for breakfast, full set of toiletries, we were allowed to check-in really early (really appreciated), they sent me a proper invoice (not very common in Sicily :-/)
All was magnificent I went to this hotel with my father.
We did a bike trip of all Sicily and we had amazing support from staff.
All the amenities were in perfect shape and all good for a visit to this city.
100% recommended
Really convenient, in the center of Messina, near the historic center and near the motorway junction. Clean and with all comforts. The owner is kind and helpful. I recommend it to everybody. How to find yourself at home.
Quick and smooth check-in. Balcony with view over the port and strait. Very convenient for Messina Centrale station and many nearby points of interest and places to eat. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom.
Everything- it is a quality hotel for a great price - located close to train station (5 minute walk), clean large room with friendly staff and a great breakfast!
Very stylish boutique hotel with all you need for your stay. Breakfast was excellent on the roof top. Staff is really friendly and welcoming. 100% recommended!
A very friendly and helpful staff, easy parking, great breakfast, and good location make this hotel a pleasing choice for Messina! We'd stay here again.
