The staff was extremely friendly and for example hinted a cheaper parking slot in front of the hotel that I had missed vs. their own carage. Hotel was easy to access with car and was in ok location for our purpose (just to stay overnight before venturing to Cinque Terre next day). Breakfast wasn't exactly plentiful but adequate for our needs.

Spacious rooms, good location and breakfast was fantasic
La Spezia is one of those typical cities of the Liguria Region where colourful houses cover hills and cliffs, providing panoramic views over the sea. Thousands of years of history and a heart open towards the sea have shaped the character of this town surrounded by the 'Cinque Terre'.
Located on the coast of the namesake gulf, its proximity to Genoa has greatly influenced its development and culture. Take a walk uphill from the harbour, and admire the display of architectonic styles in the Old Town. Some of the best hotels in La Spezia are located here, while elegant guesthouses and villas with gulf views can be found in the highest areas.
Must-see sites in the city are the 13th-century Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and St George’s Castle. The ‘Sea Festival’ is organized every summer, and its highlight is the rowing competition ‘Palio del Golfo’, a race between the 13 villages of the gulf. Departing from the port of La Spezia, boats can take you to the enchanted ‘Cinque Terre’.
The harbour is a 15-minute walk from La Spezia Central Station, and Genoa’s Cristoforo Colombo Airport is 105 km away. While planning your trip, check out Booking.com’s accommodation deals in La Spezia.

We spent four nights in La Spezia which was just right for us. We visited Portofino and Cinque Terre and as our hotel was very close to the railway station this was very convenient for travelling .We did contemplate going to Lucca but changed our mind and spent a day in La Spezia. It is a nice wee town with lots of local shops (no big bands only Zara) and lots of lovely restaurants. We had a nice walking through the town, the park and down to the ferry port and had a lovely lunch. We came back to La Spezia every night to eat as this was convenient and as I said had a good choice of restaurants at reasonable prices. There is also the regular ferry to and from Cinque Terre which is a great trip.

La Spezia is always presented as a working port , with no tourist value. We found it to be a good looking , relaxed city , plenty of eateries and cafes , pedestrian areas to walk and a great transport hub. While my friends did the Cinque Terre walk , I made a very easy 90 min journey by train to Lucca.
Infact , it was very nice to be in a town that was just going about its own business.

I have been to La Spezia before.
I have been to La Spezia before. It is very cosmopolitan and I particularly like the traffic free pedestrian area in the centre. Lots of lovely shops. Great for access to boat and rail trips to The Cinque Terre, Lerici and Portovenere

We are a family of 3 with a small child of 4 years age. We planned our itinery based on the weather forecast. We visited Cinque Terre for 1.5 days, followed by Pisa + Lucca on a day and rounded our trip by visiting the top attractions in La Spezia for few hours. I liked visiting the technical naval museum, crossing The Thaon di Revel Bridge walking along ,Costantino Morin Promenade, strolling through Via Del Prione & Corso Cavour. My son loved playing at the play area in Public Gardens. We loved eating Farinata @ Murphy's in La Spezia.

La Spezia was a great place to be based to visit Cinque Terre. The town does have a lot of graffiti though, which we initially regarded as being off putting, however we did not feel unsafe when we were there.

La Spezia is a great place to stay if doing the Cinque Terre trail. It is a nice spot with lots of shops and restaurants. November seems to be a quiet time for the area, we imagine it would have been busier and more atmospheric during summer months.
In general it is a good hotel with an excellent view. Though the drive to the Hotel is a bit windy it is totally worth it. Plus, downtown La Spezia doesn't offer such breathtaking view. Breakfast was fantastic and as mentioned in other reviews since it is only one waitress it can take some time to get your breakfast. Also, the waitress forgot to bring the foods we ordered twice. Overall, I would only stay in the this hotel for the view and quietness and their 5 star breakfast.
The rooms are very nice, modern and clean. Our room was very spacious with a big bathroom, comfortable beds and a very strong air conditioner (which was important during the hot summer). The location of the hotel is close to La Spezia Centrale where you can quickly take the train to the neighboring cities. Bars, markets and restaurants are all conveniently within short walk. The manager is very helpful with accommodation requests. Highly recommend this location.
Everything.
I would like to come back here with my family again.
Stuffs are so professional (young, I assume they are university students? But They just are nice and very good hospitality) and so helpful.
Any question solved. Great thing is they have storage at station for free which I can still enjoy cinque terre or neighbors after my checking out.
Breakfast place, just front of hotel is also cozy.
Strongly recommend! A city of La spezia too!
It is one of the best city hotel i've ever stayed. Mr Massimo is super kind and helpful. He contacted me before we reach Spezia, help us all the way, made good suggestions. It is a family hotel, everything is exactly like in photos. he thought everything even the mosquito protection. His wife is cleaning room like her own house. So i couldn't imagine a better hotel. If i come La Spezia again, definitely i will stay here again 😇🙏
Hotel is located in the bustling port area and my room had a wonderful view of the port. Very clean, modern, comfortable and quiet room and the fresh breakfast every morning was very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is ideally located for exploring the sights, restaurants and bars of La Spezia and is a very good base for accessing the Cinque Terre and Porto Venere.
Location was less than 5 mins walk from la spezia central station. It was a easy walk down the street. Owners of the place were friendly and communicated well, we arrived earlier than check-in time and the room was prepared and ready for us. Instructions were also simple and easy to follow. Room was really clean and as per photos. Will come back if I were to visit Italy again!
- Location. Just in front of the La Spezia central railway station. This is where you want to be, if your aim is to visit the Five Lands. They are just a few minutes away by train.
- Location (again). Beneath the hotel there are groceries and a chinese restaurant. Very convenient for food and the shopping.
- WI-FI working well.
- Mini fridge available in the room.
The hotel has a great location, it's right between the central Station and center city... the host was amazing in giving all details for easy check in and helping out with doubts. The breakfast was the best on our whole trip through Italy. If I'm ever back in the area and I definitely will be back, I'll stay there again:)
The reason we booked here was the proximity to the train station to take us to Cinque Terre. It really couldn't have been closer, almost over the train station! However, there was no noise from trains once inside hotel or room.
There were restaurants and bars within easy walking distance of the hotel.
this hotel shouldn't be called Mary just a Nightmare. Offered strandard below criticism, beds like in a dormitory, smelly sheets, broken dryer, the most disgusting coffee I've ever drunk not only in Italy but in general. Give a wide berth, the price horrible.
Everything great location
Close to trains
A 5 minute walk to trains Cinque Terre Italy 🇮🇹 daily
Lorenzo owner was great with all advice what to see in LA Spezia and surrounding areas plus restaurants 😀 good value
Comfortable Bed and pillows 😌
This hotel is absolutely wonderful! The location is right across from La Spezia Centrale and very convenient for day trips to Cinque Terre and Pisa. The breakfast was very nice. I would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.
Cleanliness, location, and room facility are just really great! I dont know about the beds though, it seems like in many hotels in Italy do not have a very soft bed rather slightly hard. So maybe it was just me who are used to soft beds
Gorgeous apartment, everything looked new. Very clean and tidy. Ideal location to explore La Spezia and just a short walk to train station to visit Cinque Terra. Highly recommended as a place to stay, would give it 5 stars.
