I'm a repeat visitor to Rome, but this was my first stay at the Colonna Palace. Great location, ideally located between many of the major sites, including the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and Piazza Navona. Great staff, room was comfortable and well-maintained. Bathroom was clean, nicely outfitted. One highlight is the rooftop breakfast bar, which features great views out over the rooftops of the center of the city.

DislikedThe room was very bad. The air in the room was very heavy like it was not aired at all and there was a very strong smell. Also one of the towels in the bathroom had weird stains. Also the room was not soundproof, all of the noise of the other visitors and the noise from the rooftop restaurant was in the room. The breakfast was also very bad.

DislikedFirst of all, we expected a luxury room. Instead the room was disappointing and old-fashioned with an old carpet. The bathroom was really not practical with a bath with showerhead, which is no longer modern in these times. There was little space to place your toiletries at the washbasin. Okay for this, we were hoping for a very good breakfast but this was not the case. The same kind of pistolets every day, no other bread choices except some packed things. The coffee was OK, but the orange juice was some kind of coloured water. There was yoghourt and granola, but on the last day the device for dosing your granola was broken. Instead of helping they simply told there was no granola. Only after insisting I got my granola. Another important remark, there is an elevator that goes from 0 to 6, with no stop at the first floor, but also not at the 7th floor, where the breakfast was served ! No issue for us, but an older lady had trouble reaching this 7th floor. In our room on the first floor there was no Wifi !

Bed was tiny and uncomfortable. Pillows were hard. No elevator to the section where my room was located, so had to lug 3 bags up a short flight of stairs. The location prohibits vehicles from pulling up front, so you may need to lug your own bags some distance. They charge for lost room key (10 euros?). On plus side, good location, bonus balcony in room, very helpful and pleasant staff.
