The city is beautiful, clean and very well run. Free parking on the edge of town and free shuttle service into centre. For us, it's the city itself more than its many museums and sights that makes the visit worthwhile: wonderful parks, lake-shore, squares and old streets only a short distance from the bustle of the main tourist axis. You can walk pretty much everywhere but the public transport system is good. The free shuttle will bring you from the centre to the Palazzo Te (1.5 km from the Palazzo Ducale). To be honest, I preferred the huge park and its cafés to the palace itself, which was full of school tours that day!

Mantova has been the biggest surprise of our 8-day trip...
Mantova has been the biggest surprise of our 8-day trip through Tuscany and its surroundings. We came here at the insistence of friends who live in Italy, and we are thrilled. The city is beautiful, with impressive architecture, monumental squares, and a lively atmosphere that pulses through its streets. There aren't too many tourists around, which makes it even more appealing. We happened to arrive at a momentous time when the Mantova football club secured the top spot in Serie C, and we witnessed the celebrations and festivities throughout the city center, adding to the vibrant feel of the place. A culturally rich and safe place with excellent restaurants, interesting people, and opportunities for a longer stay. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful city with plenty to see for a few days and much...
Beautiful city with plenty to see for a few days and much longer could have been spent just wandering the historic, cobbled streets and enjoying the plentiful restaurants, cafes and bars. It was off season so quiet - not crowded like Verona. We visited the theatre, of which there are several, and most of the sights, but 2 days wasn't enough time to cover everything. No car needed - walked everywhere. Train station was very central.

Amazing town, small, but with a lot to see and enjoy.
Amazing town, small, but with a lot to see and enjoy. A mixture of Emilia and Lombardy culture, especially about food, but with its own local exclusivity. I wonder why I've never visited earlier in my life!

Mantova is perfect for a day trip.
Mantova is perfect for a day trip. The center is the size of a postage stamp. The Palazzo Ducale and the Palazzo Te are not to be missed. Both really special for art, architecture and history lovers. Beyond my expectations.
Good hotel in a great location, immediately next to the pedestrian area in the town centre. Friendly and helpful staff. The decor and the facilities in the hotel are a bit dated, which also has a certain charm. Breakfast is OK, not great. You can get in front of the hotel by car to drop off the luggage, but parking is a few minutes walk away (it is cheap, though). Rooms are quiet at night.
Absolutely fantastic location. Reception staff is absolutely great, guiding us through the limited traffic zone. We were upgraded to a very nice suite with wonderful view. Beds are good, bathroom too. Not too noisy, because quiet time of the year (in summer it may be more noisy). Car is parked by hotel in garage nearby. Good breakfast (a bit standard hotel-style).
This hotel it is a quite small and very well managed, it is divided in two main buldings distan maybe 50 or 60 mts between them, near a big parking lot and near at least 3 places where you can have a good local and traditional food.
Staff very very polite and helpfully
Very close to downtown, indeet walking no mora than 10 mintes you re in the heart of Mantova
Central location, near to cafes, restaurants, shopping and historical places. Very clean property. Looks like newly decorated. We liked the loft and there is an additional double bed downstairs. It was very quite during our stay thanks to Mantova’s quite neighbors. Quick response from the host for all needs. Coffee and tea bags available during stay.
During the day, you are in the very center of Mantova, beatiful palaces and views of canals at times in between them. At dinner all the noise disappears and you sleep a wonderful night. Nice wide rooms, a beautiful giant castle of wood in one, pretty and functional kitchen. The bed we used was particularly good for sleeping a calm undisturbed night.
The hotel was very new and clean. We checked in off-line but everything worked very well. The rooms were basic but we did not miss anything. It was 37 degrees outside but the AC kept the room cool (and floor AC is much more comforyable than the normal one). Breakfast was very good. We really liked this place!
I selected it as photos were nice, but then I was not expecting much as is rated as 1 star hotel. Instead good surprise!
Nice room, very clean, all comfortable. I have to say better than many 3 stars hotel that I have been before!
so for sure I will use it again if traveling in Mantova
Our hostess Cristina was fantastic. She made us feel welcome and gave us a good introduction and explanation of all the sites in Mantova, many of which were just in the vicinity. The rooms were large and comfortable. Breakfast was included at a nearby cafe and was good.
1. You can't get more "In Centro" than Ca Margherita. Walking distance to about everything. Plus, for the couple of places like Palazzo Ducale, there is a free bus service. Lots of eateries nearby.
2. Awesome customer service.
We will go back.
We loved our time at this Hotel. Absolutely fabulous: every little detail, the breakfast served in the room was outstanding, the view on the Clock tower, the music form the square, and the impeccable service of the staff!!! AMazing!!!
This a beautiful location in old town mantova a lovely quiet town very safe lots of restaurants but all close early so nice quiet place to relax - rooms very safe lock on the inside - good breakfast and beautiful location
Super well located in the old city centre of Mantova. Extremely well cleaned and best of beds! Then add super-nice and helpful staff so, we can highly recommend it to families and/or couples. Choose this Hotel!
The hotel is in a perfect location, in front of the train station and 10 minutes walk from the city center.
The room was a bit small, but ok for a quick stay.
