Beautiful hotel in a unique restored historic building with a very high level of personal service from the friendly and attentive staff and management. Our Junior Suite had outrageously high ceilings, an enormous bathroom and a beautiful view of Lecce from the balcony that we enjoyed every day. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and abundant, with changing homemade treats every day like quiche, pinsa and cakes, the option for made-to-order eggs and nice selections of cheese, charcuterie and pastries. The rooftop breakfast and bar area was also a great place to chill and we enjoyed good cocktails there for aperitivo several times.

The location was excellent, couldn't be better. All the staff, particularly those at the front desk, were invariably friendly and helpful. The car valet service was very good, super convenient, and fairly priced, considering the urban location. Again, given the location in a largely pedestrian area inside the walls of the old city, the hotel provided excellent driving directions. The breakfast provided a tremendous variety and unlimited quantities. The rooftop bar was pleasant, and our room was large.

Lecce dazzles every visitor offering one of Italy’s best preserved walled historic centres. Its wonders include tasteful traditional cuisine, rich wines, and charming shops. Located near the crystalline waters of both the Adriatic and Ionian beaches, it is a perfect base to explore the Salentine Peninsula.
Its origins are unclear, but it is believed that dates back to the 12th or 11th century BC, when Italic tribes founded a settlement nearby, which Romans later occupied and relocated to its current position. The pages of its history are filled by Byzantine rulers, several invasions, a Norman rebirth, and an annexation to the Kingdom of Sicily.
Its distinctive Baroque style is combined with well-preserved Roman remnants. Don’t miss the historic centre during sunset, when the light creates a perfect contrast between the blue sky and the mild-yellow colour of the limestone buildings. St Oronzo Square houses the Roman Amphitheatre, while the outstanding Holy Cross Basilica is a must. Don’t miss the magic of staying in a hotel or B&B in Lecce’s Old Town.
The city is serviced by the local railway station, while Brindisi Airport is 45 km away. Whether you’re searching for rural accommodation in the surroundings of Lecce, a resort on the nearby beaches, or a cosy guest house in the centre, check out the deals available on Booking.com.

Lecce is a beautiful city with a rich history and gorgeous architecture. It's not so big as to feel overwhelming or chaotic, however. It has a calm and chill vibe that larger Italian cities farther to the north don't possess. It's an easy place to get to know and to feel at home in. More so than the rest of Italy, the far south is on more of a Spanish schedule, shutting down in the afternoon for a few hours before opening back up for the late afternoon and evening. Dinner is typically late - 10 pm or after. People considering a trip to Puglia in general should be adaptable in their eating schedules.
Lecce is not on the sea but is only 30 minutes from each side of the Salento peninsula. The two coastlines are quite different and offer different experiences; both are worth exploring at length. However, one will need a car. Fortunately, car rentals are easy to come by and are quite affordable by European or North American standards.

Lecce… and especially Dimora San Giuseppe… were a wonderful surprise!
I was originally planning to stay 4 nights here and 4 nights in Bari. First I asked if I could keep my room for 2 more nights… and the decided to skip Bari altogether and just stay in Lecce.
The quirky little restaurant right across the street, dall’antiquario, is small, inviting and serves the best local food you could find. I ate there every night of my extended stay!
If you’re coming to Puglia, stay in Lecce and enjoy the hospitality of Dimora San Giuseppe and the neighboring dall’antiquario! Unforgettable!

Lecce is charming and has many beautiful churches (most every place charges entrance). The old walled in town is compact. I found 2 coliseums. Big problem finding food. They close most everything for at least 3 hrs in the afternoon. Most restaurants don't open till 7pm. Good luck finding anything gluten free. It's a bread & pasta diet.

Beautiful town, small and easy to walk around.
Beautiful town, small and easy to walk around. Lovely restaurants & cafe’s. Al Ventuno was great for apperitifs, lunch & drinks. Very affordable. La Bocca Bistrot had a lovely dining experience - delicious food with a different approach to the Italian cuisine. Recommend. Tranquilo also a lovely restaurant & bar right at the amphitheatre. Overall a great trip to Lecce, recommend 2-3 days.
The owner/host, Manlio Palmieri, couldn't have been warmer, more gracious or more helpful in welcoming us to our first visit to Lecce. His passion and knowledge of the beautiful and historic city of Lecce was boundless. The tastefully renovated villa was extremely comfortable and the location was ideal to explore and discover the Florence of Southern Italy. The spacious balcony was lovely to enjoy a glass of local wine and antipasto as the sun set during our four-night stay.
This was a true gem in Lecce. It is minutes from the Old Town. We booked parking, and it is definitely worth the extra expense. Our room was large, immaculate, and the bed was very comfortable, and even slippers were provided. Communication with the hostess and property was excellent, and any questions we had were answered immediately. The hostess and staff were charming and very helpful throughout our stay. I would definitely stay here again - highly recommended.
An extraordinary destination has been created that adds something unique to a stay. We enjoyed the luxury and cleanliness.
The provision of a coffee lounge with snacks, table and chairs adds to the feeling of space.
I would imagine a good location to park a car. Check-in was simple, all communication via WhatsApp was lucid and timely.
A 10min walk to the beginning of the old town, and a little further to the railway station.
John has a beautiful home in the middle of the old town in Lecce. So much history in the building and he's done an amazing job renovating and decorating with his own art. He helped us find parking which is a massive help if driving around Puglia and the location was so central that you're never more than a few minutes walk from anything. He also gave us some great tips for restaurants and beaches for those doing day trips.
A 2min walk to the heart of Lecce. We had a car and were easily able to find parking right in front of the property.
There is a lift which you rarely find in Italy which was helpful.
The decor is beautiful and breakfast was the best we had in our 4 weeks of travel
Special mention to Minnie the adorable little dog, made everyday a treat seeing her around.
Absolutely recommend this place
The breakfast was some of the best we had in our 2 weeks italy!
The location was excellent, in a small quiet and calm street. Still it's very central, in the old town close to restaurants and bars.
We loved the luxurious feeling and decor of the place.
Notice that parking is 5min away on foot (no driving/parking in the old town) - the small walk was no problem for us.
The location is perfect! We loved walking into the old town. Parking on the street was very easy. The Palazzo is beautifully decorated and very clean. Wonderful breakfast offerings that were delicious. Beatrice was extremely helpful. She is a lovely host who made suggestions and reservations to make our stay in Lecce perfect. We will be back!
I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Lecce. This is a historic home and the host is very hospitable, he is great with communication and attentive to insuring our stay was perfect. The Decor is lovely and breakfast on the terrace exceeded our expectations. Easy access the historic old town. Do not miss the opportunity to stay here.
It was very well located to the old town of Lecce… the host could not be better… The room was beautiful with a balcony, and a very comfortable bed and bathroom… Elegant… Amazing delicious breakfast with local selections… Overall an absolutely wonderful place to stay… Convenient to everything you need to see
Very modern, ultra clean facility, all built within a building of excellent architecture and great history. Extremely close to the entry to the old town.
Amazing attention to detail throughout the complex. Towels were soft , shower pressure was excellent. A very special boutique hotel.
A brilliant location right at the heart of Lecce with parking. Lovely staff and good communication- sent very good directions of how to reach the hotel which were essential. Also enjoyed sitting on the roof terrace in the evening.
Lovely hotel in the heart of the old town. A perfect location for wandering around Lecce. Staff were all so friendly and helpful, hotel was spotless. Great views over the city from the roof. Recommend.
if you want to feel like you’re in Italy and more specifically in Lecce, le Signorine is a great opportunity you shouldn’t miss! super close to the city center! Francesco is very welcoming!
Very special hotel in an 18th century city palace in the heart of Lecce. Furnished with authentic museum antiques. Very friendly and helpful host. Abundant breakfast.
Wonderful apartment in the old town of Lecce. Beautifully decorated place- very modern interior of an old building. Central to everything. Highly recommended!
