A beautiful hotel in the middle of the beautiful historic town of Bergamo (in the citta alta) close to all the main attractions. The staff was amazing....from the front desk reception to the breakfast staff, everyone wanted us to be the most comfortable and provided us with smiles, help and anything we needed. We traveled with six adults and two young children and they even set up a breakfast table for us all....and provided childrens tableware for their enjoyment!! They put us all on a private floor and each of our three rooms were so unique and so wonderfully clean and comfortable!!! I would recommend this hotel if you every want to visit this beautiful town

The arrival point of low-cost airlines with cheap flights to Milan, beautiful Bergamo is a tourist destination in its own right. In the foothills of the Alps, the city is spread over 2 levels. The main sights are in the upper level, or Città Alta, where sloping, cobbled streets open into pretty squares.
One such square is Piazza Vecchia with its sidewalk cafés, beautiful library and elegant Palazzo della Ragione. Through its arches is the Cappella Colleoni, an impressive chapel with an ornately sculpted façade and even more ornate interior. The nextdoor Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore has awe-inspiring frescoes.
Surrounding streets contain several Bergamo old town hotels and B&Bs, while surrounding the whole upper city are 17th-century Venetian walls. There are still remains of the Rocca, the castle that guarded them, and there is also a castle in San Vigilio, a hilltop village reached by a cable car.
A cable car also descends to the modern town, Città Bassa. Nearby is the Accademia Carrara, a fine art gallery, across from the GAMEC modern art museum. The Serie A club Atalanta FC plays in a stadium to the northeast, while southwest is the train station where buses to Orio al Serio Airport depart.
Booking.com has several Bergamo hotels near the airport and the neighboring Orio Center shopping complex.
Beautiful town, especially Alta. We found this location great for using public transport. We took the train to Milan on one day and a train to Lake Garda another day. The people are friendly and lots of choice for food and drinks.

Although I have been to Bergamo 24 years ago, I don't remember it being so beautiful and interesting. The Architecture is amazing, with beautiful, grand buildings almost everywhere you look in the city centre and so clean and attended to. Wonderful variety of cafes and restaurants along the main street, with a very effective, regular bus timetable which we used every day to get to and from Citta Alta where we stayed. The train station had regular trains that took us to Milan 45 minutes away and also to the mountains and lakes. Bergamo Citta Alta is also beautiful with many buses going to and fro every 10 / 15 minutes from the city. Food and service in both areas are really very good and although the staff appreciated my Italian attempts, most spoke English. Food and travel were also good value. Recommend train ride to Varenna on Lake Como, absolutely beautiful! Can't wait to go to Bergamo again.

It may just have been the time of year we went (April) but very few restaurants in our immediate area stayed open late. We arrived at one at 9.20pm to be told that they were shortly closing the kitchen! By the time we got to another we were told we would have to chose quickly what we wanted to eat as they were closing soon. So we felt quite rushed to choose and eat. We ate at Vox restaurant on 2 nights which was very nice and they stayed open late.
The nearest supermarket advertised as closing at 9pm but would not let us in for just one item at 8.45pm!
The area was ideal to use as a base to visit other areas; Milan, Lake Garda and Lake Como and also nearby Verona
Citta alta was lovely though although we only went there in the daytime so can't comment on places to eat an evening meal.

Beautiful new town with many shops and cafes.
Beautiful new town with many shops and cafes. And a very interesting old town with 12th-13th century architecture, narrow streets and beautiful churches. It sits on a high hill and has stunning views of the new town.
There are plenty of cafes and pizzerias where you can try delicious pizza and eat a delicious cake.

Visiting Bergamo was one of the most memorable moments of...
Visiting Bergamo was one of the most memorable moments of our journey, and I'm eager to share my impressions of this amazing city. Bergamo is a place where every corner is steeped in history, and the air is infused with a sense of Italian charm and elegance.
Walking through the cobbled streets of the Old Town (Città Alta), surrounded by Venetian walls that are part of UNESCO World Heritage, we were struck by the architectural beauty and atmosphere that seems to transport you back in time. The squares, filled with lively cafes and restaurants, offer exceptional dishes of local cuisine, allowing you to enjoy true Italian hospitality.
The New Town (Città Bassa) is equally enchanting, with its elegant shops, modern bars, and panoramic views of the Old Town. The blend of history and modernity, traditional culture and innovation, makes Bergamo a unique place to explore.
However, the most impressive aspect of Bergamo is its people. The locals are welcoming and ready to share their love for their city, making your stay even warmer and more memorable.
Bergamo is not just a tourist attraction; it's a place where history, culture, and modern life merge together, creating something truly magical. I wholeheartedly recommend everyone to visit this city and see its beauty and uniqueness for themselves.
An amazing B&B in Bergamo. We are a family x 6 (2 x adults & 4 x children) 2 bedroom suite was spacious, clean and well appointed. Central location in Citta Alta and the private garden area has table tennis, sun loungers and was the perfect spot for breakfast each morning. The staff were friendly, flexible and provided a top notch service. Recommend the fresh daily breakfast with fresh fruit, meats, breads, cheeses, cereals, yoghurt,, tea and coffee. Highly recommended and will be back. Thank you for an amazing stay in Bergamo.
The true old style Italy in your room.the room was large and spacious the place is full of antiques far nicer than a new plain hotel or b&b with all you need for a stay down to a kettle and a mini fridge.the bathroom was fine a big shower a featurestone wall.heating an air con available too.the premises was just off a cobble stone street.
The team contact you with all the details to access the room and are only a phonecall away should you need any assistance. They even arranged an early morning taxi to the airport for us.
Very nicely decorated room with rustic features to feel even more the Citta Alta spirit! The room was so clean that as soon as we enter the room we could appreciate an amazing fresh clean perfume of something remembering Marseille soap that stayed with us during all our stay.
Breakfast was a nice surprise too. You can choose the day before what you prefer to have for breakfast and a real plus for me, being in Italy, it's the offer of fresh patisserie croissant.
Loved my stay and will definitely return when in Bergamo.
Central location in a very stylish building with high ceilings, stylish lift and staircase.
Minutes from train station, shops, restaurants, pubs. Room very clean, modern. Huge window, nice balcony with city view. Very comfy beds. Nice and big bathroom.
4 * hotel room standard in the city centre.
No kitchen or any cooking amenities, but we didn't need any. Coffee machine in the room.
No problems with checking in or anything really.
Would recommend for city break in Bergamo or as a base for north Italy.
Alessandro was great. He picked us up from airport in the middle of the night that was very comfortable. The location is just perfect in the center of the old town. Just few minitus walking from bus 1 station thats take you to down town center. 3 min walking from the appartment is the best pizza restaraunt in Bergamo Da Mimmo, must to try. We left our car at down town parking for 15 euro/24 h. Piazza liberta. From parking we took num. 1 bus till old town and then 5 min. Walking to appartment.
Excellently located hotel.
It is a short walk to the bus and train station...and the funiculare. Airport bus right in front of the hotel.
Less than an hour on the train to Milan.
An hour on the bus to Lovere on Lake Iseo.
Spotlessly clean and very large rooms, ours had a balcony with a view of the Citta Alta.
Breakfast had plenty to choose from.
The staff were very pleasant, attentive and very helpful.
I always stay here when in Bergamo.
I would highly recommend this hotel.
Arli hotel in Bergamo is 3* hotel, however it behaves like hotel with one more star. Good size room and bathroom with provided all toiletries as needed, Room has good size cabinet and also enough space. Welcome drink provided to clients included also finger food. Good variety of cold breakfast and espresso prepared from machine. Good location with close proximity to Bergamo train station and bus ride to Citta Alta (old city). Rooms equipment is pretty new in classic style.
The location was close to train station. We stayed as the flight was cancelled from Bergamo. The rooom for 4 of us was clean, although bit small in size. Private bath was clean and nice. The city tour of old Bergamo was an added advantage. Host Mr Daniel is a nice guy. He supported his best. The most supportive task was an early morning drop off to Bergamo airport by him, which eased out worry. Big supermarket nearby with some restaurants, so stay was fine.
Really nice apartment in impressive, modernist (could be Bauhaus, as suggested by posters on the walls) building. Perfectly close to Città Alta, newer city quarters and bus stop both to the station and airport (takes ~half an hour if you check timetables). Attentive host: only online, but very clear communication, precise instructions. Apartment has no kitchen, breakfast was simple, but the choice was all encompassing. Warm and crispy croissants! :)
We had an extraordinary pleasant stay for a weekend. The staff was very nice and the view from the breakfast area was incredible! (breakfast was perfect too). The room was big, clean and comfortable. The hotel has its own very fine restaurant and there are another restaurant and a pizzeria 2 minutes away. The Funicolare is just around the corner and is easy access to Citta Alta (cute old town of Bergamo). Hope to return one day.
Bergamo's walled upper town is a gem, and the hotel is on the narrow main street near the Cathedral. Location couldn't be better - you walk straight out from the front door into one of Italy's classic historical sites. The staff were very friendly and helpful, recommending restaurants, booking taxis etc. The hotel building is historic, the interior quite compact. The breakfasts were very good - delicious coffee.
Very spacious, spotlessly clean room in Bergamo. Hosts are very nice family, met us at the airport at midnight, provided good breakfast and even brought us to the train station next day. Very good and fast communication, we felt very welcomed - perfect start of our vacation in Italy. Good WiFi and air-condition. Definitely would stay again when visit Bergamo next time!
All of the receptionists were excellent and extremely helpful as we had a number of special requests largely due to the wedding we were attending at the Bergamo Cathedral. Thank you Michael, Gaia and Marta for taking such good care of us. Property is lovely and room was beautifully designed - highly recommend staying here when visiting “Citta Alta”.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They made meals to meet my vegetarian requests with no issues. And the shower might be the best one I have ever found in Italy (water pressure/hot water/and space!). The location is close to everything in Citta Alta. All around fantastic stay.
Guest service and communication are over the top. The owner is truly sweet and available to go above and beyond to accommodate any need. Such a genuine person and great amazing accomodation.
The view outside the room was very nice and you are in the heart of Bergamo cittá alta.
Riccardo and Linda was the most welcoming hosts. The room was great and it was a pleasure staying with them. Make you feel like a family member. So kind!
Riccardo took us from the airport and it was a huge help while we were traveling for the first time in Italy. Thank you!
The staff are extremely efficient and welcoming. We gave ourselves a treat and had dinner in the elegant Rooftop restaurant which has great views of the Città Alta, excellent food and very professional staff. Easy to get to Bergamo airport - about 15 mins away in a taxi.
Very close to the airport. Slightly dated hotel though very well managed, Exceptional staff who helped us every single time, which was a huge plus. Worth the visit every time you transit out of Milan Bergamo and also for seeing the city.
Pleasant experience, very friendly and helpful hotel staff & best locality for discovering Bergamo Alta! Some steps from all wonderful historical sites and museums. Good pizzeria and restaurant directly in the house.
The hotel is gorgeous with original antique furniture and designs
The breakfast was the best we’ve had in Italy, lovely cakes and covid safe
Staying in a real royal bedroom felt magical
