The city is beautiful, clean and very well run. Free parking on the edge of town and free shuttle service into centre. For us, it's the city itself more than its many museums and sights that makes the visit worthwhile: wonderful parks, lake-shore, squares and old streets only a short distance from the bustle of the main tourist axis. You can walk pretty much everywhere but the public transport system is good. The free shuttle will bring you from the centre to the Palazzo Te (1.5 km from the Palazzo Ducale). To be honest, I preferred the huge park and its cafés to the palace itself, which was full of school tours that day!

Mantova has been the biggest surprise of our 8-day trip...
Mantova has been the biggest surprise of our 8-day trip through Tuscany and its surroundings. We came here at the insistence of friends who live in Italy, and we are thrilled. The city is beautiful, with impressive architecture, monumental squares, and a lively atmosphere that pulses through its streets. There aren't too many tourists around, which makes it even more appealing. We happened to arrive at a momentous time when the Mantova football club secured the top spot in Serie C, and we witnessed the celebrations and festivities throughout the city center, adding to the vibrant feel of the place. A culturally rich and safe place with excellent restaurants, interesting people, and opportunities for a longer stay. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful city with plenty to see for a few days and much...
Beautiful city with plenty to see for a few days and much longer could have been spent just wandering the historic, cobbled streets and enjoying the plentiful restaurants, cafes and bars. It was off season so quiet - not crowded like Verona. We visited the theatre, of which there are several, and most of the sights, but 2 days wasn't enough time to cover everything. No car needed - walked everywhere. Train station was very central.

Amazing town, small, but with a lot to see and enjoy.
Amazing town, small, but with a lot to see and enjoy. A mixture of Emilia and Lombardy culture, especially about food, but with its own local exclusivity. I wonder why I've never visited earlier in my life!

Mantova is perfect for a day trip.
Mantova is perfect for a day trip. The center is the size of a postage stamp. The Palazzo Ducale and the Palazzo Te are not to be missed. Both really special for art, architecture and history lovers. Beyond my expectations.
The room was spacious, with beautiful inlaid wood floors and large windows facing the courtyard, so also quite quiet. The hotel is steps from the train station, so very conveniently located for arrival and departure while a broad quiet street accessed from the entrance opposite the station takes you on a 10-15 minute walk to centro storico with its many monuments, shops and restaurants. I did not have the time to eat at the hotel, however the coffee bar off the lobby offered a handy espresso. Well worth a visit!
The check-in was very quick and easy, the hostess was very welcoming and even kindly gave me an iron for the whole stay.
The location was good - 10 mins walking from the train station and 15 minutes on foot to the beautiful downtown. The room was super clean, cosy, and quiet (facing an inner yard). A big bathroom with a window.
I came to Mantova for a concert and the property was just perfect for having proper rest and good sleep after an active festival night :) I really enjoyed my stay! Grazie mille!
I have never written a review before but our stay at Casa Margarita was very special.
Barbara communicated with us before our, arrival and worked with us about where to park and gave us info on how to navigate the city..Our room was very spacious. the location was right in the center. Breakfast included ham, cheese, yogurt, croissants and more. . Barbara was warm and gracious, just a lovely host. Mantova is a wonderful city, definitely worth seeing. Stay at Casa Margarita you will not be disappointed.
Wonderful and lovely room with great contemporary interior design and very welcoming hosts right in the center of Mantova. Enjoyed every moment spent there. Big plus: cold water was served in a refrigerator outside of the room.
parking is not included but as a guest one can get and pay for a special permission to drive to the hotel and park in blue marked parking spots in the city of Mantova (at the time of our stay). The hosts were very helpful in getting this permission.
This is a beautiful apartment, spotlessly clean with a fully equipped kitchen. It is in a quiet street but just a short walk from the centre. Roberta is super-friendly and was always willing to go that step further to ensure that my stay was comfortable. She had also left a 'welcome' basket containing cereals, biscuits etc, plus water and fruit drinks in the fridge. If I return to Mantova in the future I will definitely stay there again!
Great location near train station, attractions and restaurants.
Large, comfortable room, whirlpool bathtub, minibar
Very attentive owner, gives all the tips about Mantova
Wifi works well
Check-in done via cell phone and there is a code to enter the building.
Breakfast a little limited, but has the basics like yogurt and fruit
Attention to the elevator: it only works if the button is continuously pressed.
Good hotel in a great location, immediately next to the pedestrian area in the town centre. Friendly and helpful staff. The decor and the facilities in the hotel are a bit dated, which also has a certain charm. Breakfast is OK, not great. You can get in front of the hotel by car to drop off the luggage, but parking is a few minutes walk away (it is cheap, though). Rooms are quiet at night.
great location
amazing breakfast bag chock full of delights that included yogurt, fruit, a bottle of juice, small nutella and jam, a pastry a sandwich with a taste of Mantovan cold cuts, extra piece of bread, butter. This on a daily basis
great espresso machine that made excellent cappuccinos
comfortable beds and form shaping pillows
Great smelling soap
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Parking garage is very secure. Hotel location is perfect. Good breakfast, fresh brioche in different flavours, also biological and allergy friendly options. Comfortable and clean rooms with a lot of space and nice views, if you have a room on the front at least.
Modern, clean, located within walking distance from the city centre and Palazzo Te. Very good breakfast with a good choice of food and coffee. Staff incredibly friendly and smiling all the time and ready to fulfill all your wishes. The hotel has a nice little gym.
beautiful place just outside of Mantova. Great location!, surrounded by farms but just there from main roads and routes.
we booked literarily 5 minutes before arriving at property after 5 pm and owner welcomed us very friendly.
super recommended!
In the middle of the Mantova center is this the perfect location to visit the city.
Ths staff sowed us a good car park and we could give the bike in custody dutring our stay.
Breakfast was very good ,friendly staff
A perfect find. Modern, spacious, comfortable, in the recently restored historic 14th century Uberti Palazzo, in the central square, facing the Ducal Palace, adjacent to Mantova’s Duomo. Highly recommended.
Excellent Breakfast, and attentive staff in the breakfast room. Hotel location perfect overlooking the main piazza. We we able to watch a classic car Rayleigh assemble and leave, a real spectacle (14th Sept)
It is a rail station hotel, nothing to write home about, but cozy and clean. Our room was on ground floor and had a sweet little balcony to enjoy breakfast on. The staff was nice and helpful.
