Hotel Montecarlo

LikedThe bed was a very comfy mattress and pillows. the convenience of the location was great, as it was virtually on San Marco Square in central Venice.

DislikedThe air conditioning didn’t work, where it is positioned meant it was very loud with early morning fresh fish suppliers negotiating and shouting from 4am. Reception staff were predominantly lovely, except when we tried to pay for drinks the manager Fabricio was very rude and abrupt with us wanting to pay by card even though it was accepted for other transactions. Tea and coffee not refilled and there was a very steep staircase to the annex rooms at the hotel.

LikedGreat location, excellent service, good and generous breakfast. Room was very quiet at night for good sleep.

DislikedBedroom decorations were a bit far on the shabby side of chic, although this doesn’t affect us too much it reduces value for money. Water in room on arrival was not replenished.

LikedStaff were very friendly and helpful.

DislikedThe room was in desperate need of repairs and upgrading. Peeling wall paper. Peeling paint on the ceiling and worn carpet. Not what we’d expect for $575 Canadian per night.
