The leaning tower was spectacular as well as all the other buildings alongside. The 3km walk along the old city walls was also wonderful. The whole city is just full of architecture and history. I think a 2-3 day trip is a perfect amount of time. If you are there longer you can catch a bus to the coast for 2 euro or a train to Florence for about 10 euro.

Book restaurants in advance and any of the sites you want to enter. Very crowded between 11.00-18.00 around the major sites but much nicer outside these times. Can recommend Bruno's Bar for a drink or 2 and L'Ostelliono for value sandwiches that are a true delight.
5 euro to walk the top of the city walls is well worth it and so is the botanical gardens to avoid the big crowds. its fairly easy to navigate the old town but don't even think about driving unless you have 2 wheels or a guaranteed parking spot. Don't pay 8 euro for a bottle of beer in view of the tower instead just walk a few meters away and save 50%.

Pisa is a lovely city I have been lucky to visit a few times. The Leaning Tower is worth seeing, but I would suggest going in late evening or out of the tourist season. But there are other places worth checking out - this time we discovered the Nave Antica Museum - only opened in 2019 just before Covid, which houses many Roman boats from BC, which were found after flooding in 1998 - in an old horse stables - lots of gems - lovely restaurants and because it is a student town, there is always a buzz - we've been there in all seasons of the year and it is well worth visiting any time of year, although July and August are very very hot.

Pisa sights are mostly gathered in one place.
Pisa sights are mostly gathered in one place. It can be busy with a lot of tourists but it is not so busy as Florence for example. It is very simple to walk in the city from one place to another. And there are plenty things to do except the Tower.

Excellent transport system - used train for 2 day trips.
Excellent transport system - used train for 2 day trips. Airport only 1.6km walk from train station. Easy to walk around Pisa. Enjoyed Leaning Tower of Pisa & Cathedral - recommend you book before your visit as tickets for tower may not be available on the day and you are allocated a specific time to access the tower. All bags must be stored in a locker, free of charge, when going up the tower. Charge of €1 to use the toilets. Pisa is a lovely place to stroll around in the evening.
We had one day and night in Pisa ahead of flying home after 2 weeks in Italy. It’s fair to say that everything outdid our expectations. The city was lovey. A real university vibe with all sorts of lively squares for a drink / food. All very compact and walkable and airport v close
The hotel was lovely. Family owned on a quiet street but right in the old town. Good sized room which was quiet with very comfortable bed and excellent air conditioning. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good and good value
Perfect location if you fly to Pisa, as walking from the airport is super easy. The rooms are very clean, we had two different rooms, one was reasonable size, the second one was rather small. Staff were very friendly, though there is no reception so make sure you communicate in advance what time you are arriving, especially if at night, so you find them. Train station is also walking distance from the hotel, so this place is a great for transit. There is an excellent pizzeria right in front of the place.
LOCATION was everything at this hotel! We couldn't have imagined it. It is in view of the leaning tower and so close to the city centre and other attractions if you want to explore the town a bit further. It is an older a bit 'aged' hotel but it has its charm for sure and I will book to stay here again next time I visit Pisa. It is only a 20 minute walk from the central train station to the hotel! The staff are very friendly and will help if needed anything.
I drove in from Genoa, it was easy to find, very straightforward drive in unlike many places we e been.
Elio was super helpful. Explained where to go and how to get there with map. It’s 10/15 minute walk from Leaning tower.
The room was very nice and the bathroom was the best we have experienced in Italy this holiday (6 different hotels)
There were cold drinks in a fridge available to purchase at any time.
Pisa is great - even better than I experienced
This hotel is close to the train station, so if you wish to visit other cities in Italy, it's a perfect location to walk to the train station and get easily to any other city in Italy. We went from here to Florence and Siena. Also walking distance to the attractions around the Tower of Pisa. The walk was about 1 KM and totally flat (no hills) all the way to the Tower.
Location was good for Pisa - 8 minute walk to Tower and 5/6 minutes taxi ride from Central Station, around 10 minutes taxi to airport. The hotel was not overly flattering but was good value for money in a great location. Rooms were basic but did the job for a 1 night stay. Would stay again for a short trip in Pisa.
Really lovely staff and cheap city tax compared to other hotels we stayed at in Italy. The staff gave us a map and helped with recommendations and allowed us to leave luggage the next day. Beautiful room 3 minutes walk away from the tower and the shared bathroom was very clean. Would definitely recommend.
This hotel had the best location in all of Pisa. You could see the leaning tower a block and a half a way from our balcony. Proximity enabled us to visit the tower area in multiple light and also before and after the crowds arrived and departed. It is also very inexpensive.
Rooms were spacious and beautiful, breakfast was delicious (loved their croissants for ex, when usually Italy doesn't have great croissants). The hosts were very attentive to all our needs and went above and beyond. The location is in the heart of a very nice part of Pisa
The breakfast buffet (a Nutella dispenser!), history-rich breakfast room, rooftop terrace with view of the Leaning Tower, and location near Pisa's main attractions were what we most appreciated about Hotel di Stefano. The bathroom was also nicely done.
Loved everything about it. Definitely the best hostel I've stayed in my Italy trip. The rooms were clean, bed was comfy, location was just perfect if you're in Pisa for the tower. Stephanie at the reception was wonderful and very helpful.
What an excellent hotel, the size of the room was huge and the shower was so powerful, very tranquil at night and the staff were so kind, always helping us. The breakfast was one of the best I have had in Italy!!! I will come back
The place was exceptional. Very close to the Tower of Pisa. And alot of restaurants around. The host was very accommodating. Easily one of the best hotels we’ve been to. Will rebook this hotel when we come back to Pisa.
Location is a few minutes from pisa Station and 25 minutes walk to the airport. The centre is also in walking distance. Room has a lot of space. Breakfast was provided by the bar next to the hotel which was good.
The hotel is located right next to the Leaning Tower of Pisa which was so ideal! The man at the front desk was so lovely and helped us with directions to the city centre at midnight when we checked in.
The hotel is in a central location. If you're travelling by train its just opposite and just around 20 mins walk to pisa. Even the airport is just a 20 mins walk. Excellent location
Hotel located in the opposite street of Pisa tower. Can be easily reached from train station either by walk or by bus. Surrounded by restaurants. Room and bathroom was clean.
