Hotel Roma, hotel in Pisa

Hotel Roma is just 100 yards from Pisa's Piazza dei Miracoli. Many rooms have views of the Leaning Tower or the Duomo. Rooms are functional and simply furnished.

It has a perfect location, is close to the Pissa tower, and takes 5 mins to walk. Quiet during the night to have a good sleep, (just sometimes a little noise of elevator motor). Breakfast was not special but ok by this price.

FAQs about hotels in Pisa

Look Beyond the Leaning Tower

If you are in Pisa then the first stop is probably to snap a memorable picture of the famous Leaning Tower. Arrive early and you just might get a chance for a solo shoot! Go beyond this legendary experience and discover a maze of ancient cathedrals, buildings and squares in this historic town.

From the Pisa Centrale Train Station, the 30-minute walk to the Campo dei Miracoli is along a pedestrianised street packed with shops and restaurants. If you head outside the touristy area you will start to uncover the atmosphere created from the some 60,000 students who study here.

Appreciate masterful art at Museo di San Matteo and Romanesque architecture at the San Paolo a Ripa d'Arno, San Michele in Borgo and San Paolo Churches. If your feet tire then hop on and off one of the site-seeing buses to get a different look at Piazza dei Miracoli or the dome at the Cathedral of San Ranieri.

Pisa Galileo Galilei Airport is the gate to Tuscany and from here Florence and Siena are easily accessed by train while San Gimignano is accessible by bus. No matter whether Pisa is the final destination or you’re just passing through, Booking.com can offer you over 90 hotels, B&Bs and guest houses in this Italian city.

We only stayed in Pisa for one day/night mainly so that we would be close to the airport and an early flight. We were able to spend an afternoon visiting the main attractions such as the leaning tower etc. We sat in one of the many bars near to this area, had a drink and soaked in the atmosphere. The staff in the bars were very friendly and welcoming. There is a good selection of shops if you wanted to do some shopping and we had a lovely meal in the evening in a restaurants close to our hotel. Visiting the leaning tower was great, mainly as it is a beautiful and intriguing building. But the best bit is watching everyone trying to take photographs at every angle possible!!

The leaning tower was spectacular as well as all the other buildings alongside. The 3km walk along the old city walls was also wonderful. The whole city is just full of architecture and history. I think a 2-3 day trip is a perfect amount of time. If you are there longer you can catch a bus to the coast for 2 euro or a train to Florence for about 10 euro.

Book restaurants in advance and any of the sites you want to enter. Very crowded between 11.00-18.00 around the major sites but much nicer outside these times. Can recommend Bruno's Bar for a drink or 2 and L'Ostelliono for value sandwiches that are a true delight. 5 euro to walk the top of the city walls is well worth it and so is the botanical gardens to avoid the big crowds. its fairly easy to navigate the old town but don't even think about driving unless you have 2 wheels or a guaranteed parking spot. Don't pay 8 euro for a bottle of beer in view of the tower instead just walk a few meters away and save 50%.

Pisa is a lovely city I have been lucky to visit a few times. The Leaning Tower is worth seeing, but I would suggest going in late evening or out of the tourist season. But there are other places worth checking out - this time we discovered the Nave Antica Museum - only opened in 2019 just before Covid, which houses many Roman boats from BC, which were found after flooding in 1998 - in an old horse stables - lots of gems - lovely restaurants and because it is a student town, there is always a buzz - we've been there in all seasons of the year and it is well worth visiting any time of year, although July and August are very very hot.

Pisa sights are mostly gathered in one place. It can be busy with a lot of tourists but it is not so busy as Florence for example. It is very simple to walk in the city from one place to another. And there are plenty things to do except the Tower.

We had one day and night in Pisa ahead of flying home after 2 weeks in Italy. It’s fair to say that everything outdid our expectations. The city was lovey. A real university vibe with all sorts of lively squares for a drink / food. All very compact and walkable and airport v close The hotel was lovely. Family owned on a quiet street but right in the old town. Good sized room which was quiet with very comfortable bed and excellent air conditioning. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Perfect location if you fly to Pisa, as walking from the airport is super easy. The rooms are very clean, we had two different rooms, one was reasonable size, the second one was rather small. Staff were very friendly, though there is no reception so make sure you communicate in advance what time you are arriving, especially if at night, so you find them. Train station is also walking distance from the hotel, so this place is a great for transit. There is an excellent pizzeria right in front of the place.

LOCATION was everything at this hotel! We couldn't have imagined it. It is in view of the leaning tower and so close to the city centre and other attractions if you want to explore the town a bit further. It is an older a bit 'aged' hotel but it has its charm for sure and I will book to stay here again next time I visit Pisa. It is only a 20 minute walk from the central train station to the hotel! The staff are very friendly and will help if needed anything.

I drove in from Genoa, it was easy to find, very straightforward drive in unlike many places we e been. Elio was super helpful. Explained where to go and how to get there with map. It’s 10/15 minute walk from Leaning tower. The room was very nice and the bathroom was the best we have experienced in Italy this holiday (6 different hotels) There were cold drinks in a fridge available to purchase at any time.
