In February 1969, Carlo Zulian, after his apprenticeship, and back from military service, decided to start an upholstery workshop when he was only 22. The business, specializing in upholstery and top quality, custom interiors, was located on San Gregorio Barbarigo bridge, in the historical centre of Padua. In 1973 it was moved to Riviera Tiso da Camposampiero, where it still stands today, in a picturesque spot just a few steps away from the famous Specola (the Astronomical Observatory), in the neighbourhood where, according to tradition, the great architect Palladio was born.
The historic Il Tappezziere workshop by Carlo Zulian, is still today a point of reference for upholstery in Padua, and not only, whether about fabric upholstered walls or the manufacturing of curtains and custom lounge suites.
