In 1935, Isidoro Burgo started a goldsmith shop in via Vallaresso, near the Cathedral of Padua. During the post-war period, the business expanded towards the selling of precious and no precious stones, and timepieces. In 1963, the shop was taken over by his son Vittorio and moved to via Umberto I, its present location. Together with his wife, Vittorio turns the shop into a family business and, after obtaining his diploma in gemmology in 1978, he starts a craftsman laboratory of gemmological analysis. Today, the Burgo Vittorio firm has expanded with the arrival of his daughter and son-in-law.
Along with gems and jewellery, Burgo also displays watches and natural and artificial stones. The shop is known for the variety of cut, synthetic and natural stones - such as the rare 57 facets-diamond cut, known as Cupid cut - and for the large assortment of necklaces of all kinds, as well as giftware, cameos, and gold and silver jewellery items. The laboratory is also authorized to issue certificates of authenticity of gemstones.
