LikedFree breakfast and close to the train station but breakfast sucked

DislikedWe checked into our hotel at 8 pm and they gave us a key to our room and THEY HADNT CLEANED IT! They said there weren?t rooms available and we would have to wait for someone to come clean it. They wouldn?t give us a refund or help in any way!

LikedThe receptionist was accommodating during check in. We had a flight out the following morning and the receptionist made the call for the taxi for us. The proximity to the train station and other major tourist spots was the reason we booked with this hotel for our last night.

DislikedFor starters, this place has come a long way from the bad reviews I read from last year. Unfortunately, the cost for our room was what I would compare to that of a Hilton in the US, but the room we stayed in was maybe that of a budget hotel comparable to a red roof or motel 6- not knocking it, just not at all what we expected for 199 euro. Overview of common area: Small reception area Small lift/elevator- 3 persons, fit two with luggage just fine. No access to stairs (emergency exit/door alarm). Hallways- had an odor and a quaint din about it. The room: Moldy/sewery odor from the restroom attached. In the shower you could look up and see where they painted over mold? Maybe. Toilet water continued to run unless you jiggled the button just right. Shower enclosure leaked. Desk and floors worn in with chips and dings (not a huge deal) Linen appeared clean/smelled clean. No view unless you count the trash that was stacked up on the small out-cove roof that was littered with cigarettes, bottles, and other miscellaneous trash articles.

LikedPerfect location. 5 min from Coloseum, and 10 minutes from Trevi.

DislikedThe building was old and not possible to open the windows to get fresh air.
