At this hotel, guests can enjoy classic-style furniture and interiors, with high ceilings providing a sense of openness indoors. Especially notable is the view overlooking the Santa Maria Novella Cathedral right in front. Moreover, from the breakfast area, we could admire the cityscape of Florence through the expansive windows. Such a special experience leaves us looking forward to our next visit. We extend our gratitude to the team at Hotel Balioni for providing us with this memorable experience.

The location is fantastic, a simple few minute walk to the basilica. Outside of that, it’s just a regular hotel, no gym, the rooftop bar is under construction (which was something we weren’t told about), and the breakfast was ok. Overall - just okay, if it’s in your price range, it’s fine. If you need a gym or those amenities, another hotel might be a better option for you.

DislikedThe room was small, and certainly not worth €300+ per night. The only window was to an inner well. The walls were thin. We heard noises from both the hallway and the adjacent rooms. The bathroom was poorly designed. There was no shelf in the shower for soap. The towel rack could not be reached from the shower.

LikedBeautiful room, central location. The buffet breakfast with views to the Duomo was a perfect setting for a 50th birthday. Staff were attentive and it was very clean and comfortable.

DislikedUnfortunately it was noisy with street traffic, so if we stayed again we’d need ear plugs.
