Hotel Palazzo dal Borgo

LikedI have somewhat mixed feelings about our stay here. To begin with, the hotel is perfectly situated for exploring Florence and is itself in a beautiful, old palace. The staff is very welcoming, accommodating and kind, ready to assist when needed. Breakfast is rich and can be enjoyed in a patio. But the whole place seems a bit dated (see below).

DislikedOur room was spacious and was decorated in a traditional, Italian art-deco style. However, the furniture is rather old (and old-looking) and I have the feeling that it at times makes it difficult to keep the place perfectly clean (there is quite some dust, but these seems symptomatic for many Italian old "palaces").

LikedThe desk staff were incredibly helpful and nice. We made lots of dinner and other reservations and they helped us immensely. The staff were absolutely great-- very, very helpful and sweet-- and the breakfasts were really good. Service was very good. It is right across the street from an outstanding restaurant (Osteria Pastella) and the staff helped us a lot getting restaurant reservations and taxis when Uber was busy.

DislikedThe pictures of the hotel make one think that it is palatial and large, but it is, in fact, a small hotel. That said, the decor is lovely-- although not grand and palatial like the pictures suggest.

LikedWonderful old atmospheric hotel a very short walk from the historic centre of Florence and from the Airport tram terminus. The area is vibrant, with lots of good restaurants and bars a very short walk from the hotel. Staff could not have been friendlier and more helpful. Highly recommended.

LikedThe staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet was great. The decor of the bar and breakfast room were wonderful. Plus there was an elevator too!
