Niccolò Piccinni (1728-1800) was a composer from Bari, who became famous in Europe with the opera "La Cecchina, ossia la buona figliola", close to the taste of the "tearful comedy", on libretto by Carlo Goldoni. In 1776 he was called to Paris, to counter the success of Gluck.
Located near the fountain of Vico Fiscardi, his birthplace over the years has undergone several renovations: now it has been transformed into a museum of music.
It is not proven that the composer was actually born in this house, but it is certain that the family lived there from 1738 to 1753.
